Ha! Ronda that was a good one...

Havahart traps and repellents work great for wild control but not on teenagers. :)

I am curious as to how you transported the skunk to the release zone? I have a pickup, but not sure if I should use the utility trailer. Certainly can't use my wife's Grand Cherokee.

Those pesky squirrels! Sorry you're having trouble and Critter Ridder didn't solve all of your issues. Yes, we have tested it in high pressure conditions and it remained effective. The critter ridder granular works by taste and touch so if they are that hungry, those clever animals may be working really hard to eat the seeds and not the repellent and as they walk on it...they may be bearing the agitation on their feet to get to the food...

A few additional recommendations....(and some trouble shooting)
Did it rain heavily where you are recently after applying the critter ridder? Sometimes heavy rain makes it lose its effectiveness.

Other things you can try...

Using the Critter Ridder Spray along with the granular often provides more control.

Deer Off is our premium repellent for Deer, Rabbit and Squirrels and it also contains putrescent egg which mimics the scent of a predator in the area so the squirrels will be afraid to come close because of perceived danger.

You could also trap the squirrels to relocate them if the repellents are not working...check our critter library on Havavahart.com - link (http://www.havahart.com/advice/critter-library/squirrel-control) for more advice on how to take care of those squirrels and keep your bird feeder safe.

I've used your Critter Ridder - 2 lb. purchased from Home Depot at a cost of $14.98, and have had no success at all. The squirrels are as bold as ever! They actually sit on it and feed on any bird seeds around it. Has this been tested in a area with high squirrel population?

We are sorry you are having trouble with one of our traps but we'll work with you to make it right. It's tough to say if it was a raccoon or a neighbor's mischief that caused the damage to your trap. If you send in a photo of the damage that would help a great deal. (Or if you are willing to send in the damaged trap) We can either repair or replace your damaged trap if the product doesn't meet our design specifications. Please contact me at consumercare@woodstream.com attn: Theresa Flavin and we can work through this further.

Our traps have been rigorously tested in the development and field but we are always looking for ways to improve them. Because you have an older model, we may have made improvements to that design since your purchase. We are always looking to learn more about how to make our traps more durable, safe and effective so thank you for your comments and we'll help you catch that raccoon and send him packing yet!
