Yes. The above is what I gave the neighbors on either side of me for Christmas. Plus a box of thin, chewy home baked gingersnaps.

I like my neighbors. Seriously. They are sweet, fun, generous and both families are great gardeners. So when I bought this Critter Ridder Protection bundle for myself I decided that my neighbors needed some also. Otherwise, the critters – squirrels, deer, coons, cats, you name it… would be repelled right out of my yard into theirs. Not only do strong fences make good neighbors, but shared repellant does also.

This product is effective. And (drum roll) non-toxic. That means I can spray it right onto my garden, right by the lovely organic vegetables and lush peonies and apple trees. The health of my family will be maintained. The little creatures, however, smell this stuff, feel it on their little sensitive toes and they say, “Ay Yi Yi…get me outta’ here!”

Which is just fine by me. I like squirrels. I like to go to a park, a long way from my house, and sit on a bench and watch the squirrels. I love deer. I like to see them at a great distance, standing in the dusk on the crest of a soft sloping mountain, sunset in the background, at home in the wilderness where they belong. Mice…well… maybe in a cage. No. Not even there. I don’t like mice.

But you get the point. There is a place for everything and everything should be in its place. And my garden is not the place for furry critters that want to eat my lush produce and fragrant flowers.

And that is why I gave repellant to my neighbors for Christmas.
